Colerne Rugby Football Club

Colerne RFC clubhouse refurbishment

£5000.00

Project Description:
The existing clubhouse is a timber framed building with a tiled roof some 40 years old that has not had any major refurbishment during its life span. To make the building fit for purpose we propose to replace the timber doors and windows with UPVC to meet current insurance requirements over board and plaster the ceiling install modern LED lighting replace the kitchen units to meet current hygiene standards tiling to the toilets and provision of new furniture and cubicles replace the old hot water boiler with a modern system and construct a new patio to the rear of the building. This would allow us a modern facility which would be of benefit to both the club and the local community through low cost hire of the refurbished facilities.

Input from Community Engagement Manager:
The application meets the grants criteria

·         The project has a high level of support from the RFU and by the bi-county governing association.

·         Considerable club reserves have been committed to the project and fundraising has taken place

·          The works will benefit the whole club including juniors

The Sports Development Officer supports the application but raises some suggestions which include:

1.    Could a % of the income from clubhouse activities be put aside for maintaining facilities/

2.    Has the club approached the MOD and the Parish Council for support?

Proposal
That the Area Board determines the application.
